Right in the heart of South Beach, Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel is one of those hotels that delivers exactly what you need for a Miami trip – nothing overly flashy, but a really solid experience at a price point that actually makes sense for the location.
Set in a classic Art Deco building just steps from the ocean, the vibe leans more laid-back beach house than full-blown luxury resort. It’s social, easy, and comfortable—and for what you pay in Miami, that balance is hard to find.

Tips for Visiting
If you’re staying here, plan to spend your days outside. The pool and beach setup are where this place really shines, so get out early to grab a good spot.
This isn’t a “stay on property all day” luxury resort, so we’d recommend using it as a base – hit the beach, explore South Beach, then come back to reset before dinner or drinks.
Also worth noting: this is one of the better value beachfront options in Miami, so go in with that mindset and you’ll appreciate it a lot more.

Best things to do
Start your day at the private beach area – having direct access with chairs and towels already set up makes everything feel seamless. This was one of our favorite parts of the stay and something the hotel consistently gets right. Guests frequently highlight how easy and convenient the beach setup is.
The pool scene is another strong point. It has a fun, social energy without feeling like a full-on party hotel – more relaxed than some of the bigger South Beach spots, which we liked.
In the afternoon, grab a drink at the bar or poolside. The cocktails are solid, and the whole space has a good vibe that makes it easy to hang out for a while.
Evenings are best spent exploring – you’re within walking distance to restaurants, nightlife, and everything South Beach has to offer. Highly recommend visiting the fashion district also!

Where to Take Photos
The pool area is the standout – palm trees, cabanas, and that classic Miami aesthetic make it super photogenic.
The beach setup is another great spot, especially in the morning when it’s quieter and the light is softer.
Inside, the Art Deco exterior and colorful design details give you that classic South Beach feel without trying too hard.

Location
Located directly on Collins Avenue in South Beach, the hotel puts you within walking distance of just about everything – restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and the beach right out back.
It’s one of those locations where you can go the entire trip without needing a car, which makes everything feel easy.
- Great value for a beachfront hotel in Miami
- Easy, private beach access with full setup
- Friendly, attentive service throughout the stay
- Fun pool scene without being over the top
If you’re looking for a high-end, over-the-top Miami resort, this probably isn’t it. But if you want a well-located, easy, and genuinely enjoyable stay at a reasonable price, Kimpton Surfcomber hits the mark. It’s the kind of place that delivers exactly what you need—no more, no less—and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
